Alan A.

Most of my life I have been interested in the biological sciences.  In 2005 my mother gave as a gift to my young daughters a small simple refractor, and that was the seed that led me to grow into astronomy in a big way.  Shortly after that I watched Stephen Hawking's 3 DVD set titled "Universe"  and my world changed - I was hooked.  Now I have a large astronomy library and more telescopes than I can shake a stick at.  My interests are deep sky observing, optics and optical design/metrology, the history of astronomy and the telescope, and cosmology to name the key areas only.

I am a member of the Antique Telescope Society, ALPO, the Mount Diablo Astronomical Society, and East Bay Astronomical Society.
