Andrew Paterson

I initially joined the BAA in the 1970s but then lapsed when a student and for a while after before re-joining in the 1990s. I have an 8 inch SCT which I use mainly for planetary observing but I do not have space to set up a permanent observatory. I enjoy the chance to see darker skies when travelling and have successfully seen three eclipses to date - the 1999 one from the garden of a gite we rented in Normandy, the 2016 one in Indonesia and the 2017 one in Idaho USA.  I certainly intend to view a few more especially if they are in places with other sights on the bucket list!
