Mick Nicholls

I started to gain and interest in Astronomy in 1976. In the early to mid 1980's I acquired my first scope and began recording what I saw and making visual observations and drawings. My main interest is solar system objects especially the Sun. My favourite wavelength to observe and image the Sun is H-Alpha. I am a BAA member and BAA solar section contributor and send my images and report forms to the BAA solar section director. I have made nearly 2,000 visual observations of the Sun each with a drawing in log books and nearly 8,000 visual observations once again with drawings in log books. My current imaging and observing scopes are a Coronado 40mm DS PST, a MAK127 and a 80mm Starwave ED-R refractor. I have also been a member of Mexborough And Swinton Astronomical Society since 1996.
