ccd image and observation My 24th image of L4 Panstarrs is attached, taken from New Mexico this morning. The comet was 20' below 3rd mag. gamma Cephei (Alrai), so any photometric measurements might be rather tricky! 20130513 Marin Mobberley

ccd image and observation My 23rd image of L4 Panstarrs is attached, taken from New Mexico a few hours ago. There was some cloud around and the New Mexico sky was noisier than usual, but even allowing for that the comet looks quite a bit less active than in my earlier remote shots. 20130512 Martin Mobberley

David Arditti continues to send in interesting images, this time of Messier 97 - the "Owl" nebula. This image was taken through H alpha and OIII filters, was taken over three nights and then processed with Nebulosity 2.5.3 and Photoshop CS4. Full details are on the image. This nebula gives the impression of two spherical shells of gas displaced from one another.
