Moon 2016 January 19

DMK 41AF02.AS camera
Baader 30nm H alpha filter
3 |
A whole-disk image taken at prime focus, with a mono camera through a broadband hydrogen alpha filter (i.e., deep red). A 60 second video taken at 15 frames per second was stacked and sharpened. The moon was low at the time (17 deg.) and seen through haze, so the final sharpness of the image is a tribute to the power of stacking and the effect of imaging in the deep red.
