Hi guys
Wondering how you choose a reference star from the Miles database relative to the target star?.
Looking in the Miles database in Isis you only have the HD number and spectral type but no Ra or Dec to help choose for the target?. I also downloaded the Miles library from here http://www.iac.es/proyecto/miles/pages/stellar-libraries/miles-library.php and that is just in ascii format again with no RA or Dec too?
thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
You could use Paolo Berardi's spreadsheet which has RA/Dec.
I think Francois Teyssiers spreadsheet which allows you to find all the close A/B stars with low extrinction also identifies the MILES starsĀ

If you do go back to the original MILES source make sure you chose the spectra uncorrected for extinction

Hi Steve,
I recently compiled a database for TheSkyX based on data extracted using VizieR. Attached is the text file (uploaded as a .doc as per forum requirements) which includes name, coordinates and spectral type. I haven't checked for accuracy, but I have no reason to believe there are any major errors.
Cheers,
Paul
Cheers guys, just what I was looking for.
