While Peter was attending the Kelling Heath astro camp he had some good clear spells, during which he captured this image of the Milky Way, centred on Cygnus.  The image was taken using a Canon 60Da DSLR fitted with a 14 mm Samyang lens and is a stack of 10 x 3 minute exposures taken on Friday 30th Sept 2016.  The camera was mounted on an Astrotrac and tripod.  The number of stars makes it difficult to find your way about the image, but some fine Barnard dark nebulae can be seen in the Milky Way in Aquila , red emission nebulae in the heart of Cygnus, the red emission nebula IC 1396 in Cepheus and even the Veil nebula on the outskirts of the Milky Way.
