SN 2021zny was classified at discovery as a rare type 1a- “Super-Chandrasekhar” supernova.  Here is a spectrum of it taken around maximum light. It still appears to give a match  to  a typical 1a -SC but the luminosity at maximum seems to match that of a normal type 1a.

(I am not really sure which section to report these to, “deep sky” or “variable star”)

    Cheers

It is (or was) a star and it varies in intensity. Sounds like you made the correct choice to me.

    Hi Robin,

Both Sections may be interested. When I did photometry of AGN I had contact both the VSS and DSS.

    Cheers,

    Andy
