    Hi folks,

I’ve been invited to serve on the scientific organising committee (SOC) for next year’s National Astronomy Meeting (NAM 2022), which will be hosted by the University of Warwick next July. The meeting is likely to take a “hybrid” format, with some participants attending in person, and others connecting remotely.

NAM welcomes amateur as well as professional astronomers, and in the past there have been sessions on issues such as light pollution, dark skies initiatives, astronomy education / outreach, Pro-Am collaborations, etc.

Earlier today, the RAS put out its first call for proposals for sessions at NAM 2022, with a deadline of Tuesday 14th Dec 2021 at 17:30 UTC. You can find the application form here. It would be really great to see some session proposals from the amateur community and from Pro-Am collaborations. I would highlight that the SOC encourages proposals which offer a well-balanced, diverse range of different speakers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, either publicly on this forum or by private email.

Best of luck with your proposals!

    Dominic
