I’m planning to livestream the eclipse from Chelmsford on Thursday morning. I’ve got a test stream running this afternoon here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6S5oN06RRc. I’ll leave it running for a few hours today.

This is the set-up I’m using for the live stream. It is a Megrez 72 FD refractor on a NEQ6 with an IP camera module which feeds video directly into OBS via a long PoE Ethernet cable and then on to Youtube. It’s the first time I’ve tried this and it was far too easy! Hopefully the weather will play ball on Thursday.

This is the link for my eclipse livestream on Thursday morning https://youtu.be/DtqzzB5xAF8.  The forecast for here looks encouraging at the moment.

I hope everyone gets a good view. Here, and I hope Jeremy doesn’t have any. My skies are totally obscured by the dreaded cloud. It might start to break up later but at the moment it’s solid.

Very cloudy in Chelmsford at the moment after a cloudless day yesterday. Weather satellite shows it clear at the moment up the east coast and in the North Sea and a few clear patches elsewhere. Fingers crossed for some breaks later.

Getting a few glimpses here in Cheshire. Also plenty of time to read the splendid June Journal which was delivered an hour ago.

Gary. Aren’t you at the ground? I was looking forward to an eclipse drawing from the posh stand at Edgbaston.

Clear here (Thorpe-le-Soken, Essex) until a few seconds past maximum then intermittent. Excellent view through a variety of filters / instruments. Most pleasing view lying back on a sun lounger and viewing through 1999 eclipse shades whilst drinking coffee.

I had an excellent view from Upper Benefield, Northants., though there were spells of cloud at times. I was able to time 1st and 2nd contacts with a 80 mm OG by direct vision. A pity the two sunspots visible are so small. There were several parts of the lunar limb showing irregularities. I hope others enjoyed the view.

Small breaks in cloud from Broad Chalke near Salsibury. Got one or two tolerable pics. Very civilised time here: feet up, glasses on and a cup of tea in hand as we sat in deck chairs and gawped.

    Nick,

Nope.   Thought long and hard but decided not to apply for tickets.   I would never have got my small Dob in anyway 😉

Some views throughout here at Tarbatness both NE and 102mm Mak+solar film. Cloud was thick at times but more attenuated after maximum eclipse. Clear, sunny and warm now! Liz watched the event NE via reflection from the glass coffee table with the sun behind thin cloud. So simple, looking down rather than up and without neck strain.
