Deep Sky Update – 2021 May

Sorry for the late update this month. And just a couple of notes, as my typing is a little restricted due to a kitchen knife minor incident.

1. Don’t forget about the BAA Webinar on June 9th. Howard Banich, a frequent contributor to Sky & Telescope, will be talking about Deep Sky Sketching. Details at https://britastro.org/node/25524

2. Wolfgang Steinicke is giving a talk entitled “William Herschel – Discoverer of the Deep Sky” at a webinar arranged by Wells and Mendip Astronomers on Saturday 19th June 2021 from 7.30pm.

Although not very dark skies at the moment, and you do need to stay up late, if there are opportunities to get out it would be good to see any results.

Next update will be after the summer solstice and I’ll hope to have a longer update then, as we start to look forward to longer nights.

Clear skies,
Callum
