I’m a newbie to Deep sky photography. I have in the past few years done a little Planetary & Moon imaging with Celestron SE6 & ASI120MC on Alt-Az mount. Also, imaging with Ioptron Skytracker Pro & DSLR. Have enjoyed it all and wanted to take the hobby much further (no pun intended :)) – hence getting the 8” scope, Equatorial mount, CMOS cooled camera, ASIair Pro and filters etc.

ASIAir Pro is most definitely helping me immensely – I think it is brilliant – before buying the kit I had major worries about doing Polar align but ASIAir Pro takes away my worries – also the GoTo/Plate solving is incredible – the Wow factor of “dialling” in an object and then it appears will never get old for me. All controlled with my iPad.

I know I’m only scratching the surface of this new hobby but I’m really happy with my progress so far and most importantly I’m really enjoying it.

Apologies for the long preamble, just wanted to set the scene i.e. I’m a newbie but have a passion for the skies and want to learn more.

Imaged over two nights.

Processing; Deep sky stacker, Pixinsight with final tweaks in Photoshop + Topaz DeNoise AI.
