Spring Webinar Saturday 25th April

Following the success of our 7pm Wednesday webinars, we shall be hold a Spring Webinar on Saturday 25th April starting at 2:30pm, the day our Spring meeting was due to take place.

NASA/JPL-Caltech In this artist's conception, a possible newfound planet spins through a clearing in a nearby star's dusty, planet-forming disc. This clearing was detected around the star CoKu Tau/4 by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Astronomers believe that an orbiting massive body, like a planet, may have swept away the star's disc material, leaving a central hole.

The webinar will last about 1 1/2 hours with two presentations and Q&A (questions from those attending via Zoom). The first speaker will be Prof Simon Goodwin (Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Sheffield) on the topic of Is anybody out there?, followed by Roger Dymock giving an Exoplanet Division Update on Pro-Am Projects.
