New replies to earlier posts in threads tend to be missed as they cannot easily be found. eg as currently in this thread.

I noticed that a new reply had been posted because it rose to the top of the list in the sidebar but it took me  while to find it.

The “Last Post” button should perhaps solve this but does not appear to work as expected

Is there anything that can be done ? (Personally I prefer the linear time series thread format under a single subject heading with a quote facility such as used in SGL, Cloudy Nights  etc)

    Thanks

    Robin

Also if a new reply is added  up the thread, the numbering of all posts in the thread below it are all incremented even though they were posted earlier so you cannot reference a post by its number

There is indeed something weird going on: I saw Betelgeuse go back to the top, and clicked on it only to be confronted with an old message. I thought there might be some comments on its evolution up to the end of the Orion season.

Hugh Allen posted  yesterday showing its continuing spectroscopic evolution on the way back to “normal” in reply to an  earlier post of mine

Thanks – I hadn’t seen this, and it is pretty much on the topic I expected! So the near IR pattern has continued as expected.
