Members may be interested in a forthcoming seminar on Computing at Jodrell Bank by Ian Morison at the British Computer Society in London on the afternoon of 21st November. This is organised by the Computer Conservation Society and it looks like it will cover the history and background since the mid 1960s. (Further information linked above.)

    Hi David,

Several years ago the West Yorkshire Branch of the BCS organised a trip to Jodrell Bank which included a behind-the-scenes ICT guided tour by Ian Morison. He is a skilled presenter and educator and it was a great experience. I’m sure everyone attending his seminar will really enjoy it.

    Clear skies,

         Alex.

    Thanks Alex,

Yes, I’m looking forward to it ! I’ve seen a couple of his lectures online from the period when he was Gresham Professor. I’ve never met him before although I know some of the people at Jodrell Bank who have worked with him, and have had a few of the “behind-the scenes” tours over the years.

    Cheers,

    David
