642nm Astronomik filter for IR
6.25x (doubled 2.7x) APM barlow
Finally got round to processing my Mercury data from 12th May. Data was very difficult to process as seeing was poor. 3 videos using Baader 685nm IR filter yielded nothing but more successful with the Astronomik 642nm filter which gave 3 videos where faint surface details matched after processing.
Breakthrough in processing was to use PIPP in standard quality algorithm to process each video down from 27k frames to 2% of that. Quality sort much superior to AS3s! Then used 80% of those frames in AS3 with NR of 7 and single AP box of size 104 with 1.5x drizzle. In Registax Linked Gaussian first layer 0.75denoise 0.16sharpen at 100% then histo 9/136 and gamma 0.5. Combined all 3 videos in Winjupos then Astra Image deconvolution in PaintShop to bring out details.
