The BAA Office has been informed that the RAS will be running a special event in the RAS library at Burlington House, Piccadilly, on 29th May to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1919 total solar eclipse. Unfortunately this means the library won’t be open as usual before the BAA meeting on the same date. However, BAA members are welcome to sign up for a free ticket to one of the group visits at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/centenary-of-the-1919-solar-eclipse-tickets-60573842995. The group visits will be at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm, and the event is also happening on 31 May. The event is aimed at members of the public and there will be actors playing the roles of Eddington and Einstein.
