Lovely. Ray, this is the sort of widefield shot that I really love. Where was this shot from, is there much light pollution?

The conditions here in the south of the Lincs Wolds are reasonably good - which is why we moved here after 40 years in the Leeds area!  I like these "spacey" shots. You do need a decent lens (this one is a recent acquisition after seeing good reviews; cost me £600 mind!!). The skies even here are being gradually destroyed, of course, as pretty much everywhere.

Fantastic image. I don't wish to trivialise, but glancing at the thumbnail on the recent images page I initially saw a monster with red eyes. On the topic of light pollution, the replacement of the yellow bulb streetlights with bright white LEDs continues apace here and is really adversely affecting the night sky. David
