Hi Guys,

I really like AIJ and having talked to our AAVSO colleagues recently it seems to have a rapidly growing userbase.

A quick question if I may...

Having loaded a (large) sequence and begun the Plate Solve process it's clear that solves each frame in turn individually.  Timeconsuming.

My guiding isn't hat bad!  Is there an option whereby I can plate solve the first image and simply apply the findings/settings to the rest of the stack to save time?

I don't (yet) know the answer to the question as asked but have you considered running a local server?  It's markedly faster and more reliable than using in my experience and relatively easy to set up.  There's a Windoze version called ansvr (Google is your friend!) but it's a large download because you get a cygwin installation thrown in for free so all the required Linux programs are available.  The data files are another big download, especially if you use the latest 5000 series indexes which are based on GAIA-DR2, but all this lot only has to be done once.  If you already run Linux life is markedly easier in this regard as only base software and the indexes need downloading.  I've not regretted installing ansrv for MaximDL's benefit.

I also use AIJ (though I'm now more enamoured of APT) so I'll research your actual question.

Thanks for the suggestion Paul.

It took a while to get the local ansvr configured and running but it's going now.  A little slower than PS2 I have to say but it's usable.  I'll review that statement when I do a long photometry run!

I like the labelling and Simbad links.  It's a step up from AIP4WIN and must have a better development path - especially for a free package.

I'll give it a try and see what happens.
