faint comet C/2020 K8 Catalina-ATLAS on 2020 July 16 at 10:14UT taken remotely using ITEL T24 Sierra Nevada. Large aperture photometric G magnitude = 15.5 This places absolute magnitude H0 at 14. Perihelion distance is 0.47AU on 2020 September 14. Appears to be a dynamically new comet, on its first visit. This intrinsically faint, new comet has a high probability of disintegrating. |
