Jeremy Shears’ observatory

Bunbury, Cheshire

The Bunbury Observatory houses a Takahashi FS102 fluorite apochromatic refractor with a focal length of 820 mm. This instrument, together with a Starlight Xpress SXV-M7 camera, is mostly used for CCD photometry of cataclysmic variable stars. The mount shown in the photograph below is a Vixen GPDX controlled by a Skysensor SS2K GOTO system. However, this has recently been replaced by a Gemini G41 mount and Boxsdorfer control system. The whole is mounted on a BCF Astroengineering pier and housed in a Pulsar 7-foot dome.
