Callum Potter’s observatory

Several years went into the planning and construction of my observatory, and initial plans were for a dome (conventional, geodesic, and other shapes) to contain a 30-cm telescope. Although this was a Dobsonian, it was to be motorised using Mel Bartel’s excellent scope-drive software. Construction commenced, but after a few years of incredibly slow progress I purchased a 50-cm and had to revisit the observatory design. Luckily I had not started on the roof, and had space to convert the design to a roll-off roof.
