Francis Milsom’s observatory

My observatory – known as ‘The Shed’ – is quite compact. The telescope housing, with a run-off roof, measures 6 x 6 feet, and to one side is a similar-sized room that serves as an observing office, enabling me to image in relative luxury. At present I image with DSLR and modified web cameras (SC1 and SC3 mods). I have built a number of attachments for the web cameras: filter wheel T-mount adapters for a number of modified Pentax lenses. The ‘office’ also houses my 10-inch Dobsonian and 4-inch refractor for nights when the computer monitor does not hold the same magic as an eyepiece.
