As
well as the talks on the two days, other facilities were provided. PCs were
available in a side room, providing the opportunity to try out popular
photometric software, including the widely-used AIP4Win. There was also an
opportunity to try the VS Section's data template, being designed to help the
organisation and checking of reduced photometry. John Saxton agreed to bring
equipment for testing the linearity of CCD cameras, which was carried out by
Richard Miles, and there were poster displays of the Variable Star Section's
CCD target list (the new CCD charts were also available) and of real science
already being undertaken by amateurs. |
