What is Light Pollution?

Light pollution is artificial light which shines where it is neither wanted, nor needed.

Light pollution can be a problem due to either distant bad lighting (seen as skyglow) or very immediate, local lighting (often causing nuisance to home-owners).

Both cause a range of problems.
