The Campaign
The work of Daniel Nixon
Essex based graphic designer Daniel Nixon recently took on the ambitious project of educating people about light pollution through design. Dan has received the British Sky Broadcasting Ltd "Green Award" for an interactive display (shown below) which was presented at the New Designers 2008 exhibition, the foremost showcase of graduate design.
Initially, this project formed part of his degree work but since graduating this summer, he has continued to develop further design ideas. The result of all Dan's hard efforts can be seen on his internet site at http://www.need-less.org.uk/ which is designed to help raise awareness of the growing need to reduce light pollution and save energy. This site now offers many entertaining and intriguing new concepts that appeal to the public for help.
Those who would like to campaign against light pollution are invited to use the Need-Less posters and animations as they wish.
You can view all the animations that Dan has produced at the Need-Less animations page.
