I have attached an image of 45P Honda-Mrkos-Padjusakova taken on 2022 July 21 at 08:50UT. 5 minute stack on comet. As well as an Astrometrica screenshot. The nucleus is not visible. Fainter than 16 mag. An earlier image less than a month ago, on 2022 June 25, gave a nuclear G mag of 13.7 Very odd appearance, suggestive of a breakup. During its perihelion passage, It did appear significantly brighter than originally predicted by 3 magnitudes. |
