I spent last weekend in Suffolk at an astrocamp with my local astronomy club where I took the attached image of 2012K1 with a 200mm telephoto lens and DSLR. I can't detect the ion tail but the dust tail and faint green outer coma are prominent . I could detect around 15 minutes of tail visually using a 20" dobsonian under the dark Suffolk skies. |
